The Artists

Sydney Sehi
As an artist I am interested in work that has connections to history, nature and story telling. I believe that who you are is represented by what you can leave behind, be that knowledge, a family, or a physical space or object. I choose to work in a variety of mediums to better connect with the network of women who are part of my cultural and physical DNA. Those women have taught me to be a creator and a giver, and that my hands are not meant for violence but to create symbols of support, compassion, and love.
I also enjoy teaching others new skills and ways to express themselves. I am currently prioritizing teaching classes at local, woman owned, business that support their communities.
Sovia e Bossemeyer
The work of Sovia e Bossemeyer is about exploring the concepts and imagery that elude and distract her consciousness. insurmountable as a whole, they always feel out of reach. this is not for a deficiency of technical skills or lack of necessary supplies, but for seeming nearly impossible to exist. this haunts her. it's a struggle that pushes her thoughts and from it comes tangents and shards of imagery. these twisted expressions are taken from the insurmountable whole then made real. she uses them to confront the viewer — to ask them to contemplate how she sees the world. they are objects from a game of make-believe, a game she feels only she is playing.
